Capturing the Real You
The Experience
Outdoor, Lifestyle, Studio
Book a photography session for YOU and your FAMILY! Scroll down to see how simple the process is to get your images captured, printed, and up on your wall to be ADMIRED for years to come!
How it Works
Step 01
The Booking
First, you need to think about this: What do you hope to get out of this process? What style of photo do you prefer? Who will be in the images? Which capture is the most important? Where do you plan to display your prints? Then you decide whether you need a classic session or a mini session, want to shoot indoors and/or outdoors, and if you want something simple or styled!
Step 02
The Greet
Second, depending on the type of session chosen, you will fill out a questionnaire and/or we will schedule a phone/video call to discuss style and artistic balance, location, and expectations. This will help guide our photoshoot to create the images you desire.
Step 03
The Captures
This is the second best part: The actual sitting wherein we work together to create the much anticipated images. Think of our session as a conversation with a friend. I will be giving some direction but I also want you to feel comfortable to move around freely so the images created are as authentic and genuine as possible!
Step 04
The Viewing
A sneak peek may be posted on social media before you receive a link to your digital watermarked viewing gallery. The image reveal is the BEST part of each session. After viewing, you are able to choose your images for final hand-editing and/or order a la cart products. I will walk you through the process so it is stress free!

Do you do cake smashes?Yes! Not only do I photograph cake smashes, but I also offer a variety of one year birthday milestone styled sessions that don't involve cakes. Think donuts, flowers, wooden toys, ice cream cones, and bubbles and balloons!

What is a deposit fee?A deposit is the payment required to hold the date you have booked open. Deposits are required to book any full session. Mini sessions do not require a deposit as the fee must be paid in full upfront as mini-sessions are usually discounted.
-
What is a good age for newborn pictures? The best age to schedule newborn pictures is when baby is expected to be 7 - 10 days. When we book your session, we tentatively book your due date but expect baby to arrive in their own time and then book a solid date once baby is born or on the way! If you have a planned c-section or adoption, then we are able to book the date more concretely. If you don't feel confident getting pictures done of your baby at such a young age or you are unable to leave the house for a variety of reasons, you can book an 'older newborn mini session' when baby 2 to 4 weeks and still get some darling memories.

What do I wear to my photo session? The easy answer is something you are comfortable wearing! The more complicated answer is something that matches the session that you have booked and use the colour wheel to help you (and your family) look fabulous. The colour wheel is made up of primary (blue, red, yellow), secondary (green, orange, violet), and tertiary (a combo of primary and secondary) colours. You can actually use the colour wheel to help choose your outfit combinations! Here are my top recommendations: Monochromatic: You can create a monochromatic look for your family by pairing together pieces that are comprised of variations of one colour. Analogous: This colour 'style' combines three to five adjacent colours on the colour wheel that are in the same family. It is beautiful and calming yet not too bold. For example, you could wear a purple (blue undertone) dress and your child could wear a blue sweater and jeans. Complementary : This clothing colour combination will be a bold choice but it will still be beautiful to the eye. These colours are opposite each other on the colour wheel (blue and orange or red or green). You don't have to use the primary red or primary green together but can use a different shade of green and red such as olive and mulberry. Natural occurring colours: If you wear darker leather boots, then wear a darker leather belt or hat to coordinate. Neutral colours: When you mix neutral colours, make sure to diversify (avoid wearing all beige or all white as it will appear dull). Denim can be considered a neutral colour for photo sessions. Patterns: abstain from using too many patterns. That being said, a muted gingham plaid pattern could pair well another person who who is wearing a solid colour in the same colour family. Colour Families: Focus on coordinating pastels with pastels, jewel tones with jewel tones, etc. Accessories: Accessories don't have to match and you can use them to make your outfit pop but not take away from your face. Remember, the most important idea to keep in mind is to wear an outfit you feel comfortable and fabulous wearing!

How early should I book my newborn photos?I recommend booking your newborn photos when you are about 3 months pregnant and passed the more crucial stage of fetal development. Booking at this period allows you to have your newborn pictures prioritized in your due date month. If you wait, you run the risk of missing out as we can only take limited newborn sessions each month. Also, when booking at around 3 months pregnant you have more flexibility if you choose to purchase a Watch-Me-Grow Collection. At time of booking, only the session fee is required. Collections can be purchased after the session is complete.
